Glass Club Lake

GLASS CLUB LAKE is one of the best kept secrets in Texas, a private, gated, lake and residential community in the tall piney woods of east Texas.   The lake community is managed by the Glass Club Lake Board of Directors elected by the members.  The Club consists of no more than 100 members who own a share of the entire property.   The lake is approximately 43 acres and 3/4 mile long and 1/3 mile wide (at its widest point) and is surrounded by approximately 155 acres of land.  The lake and the surrounding property is owned by “The Club” (Glass Club Lake, Inc).   There are 80 home sites around the lake and provisions for 20 club members to have lake use only privileges. The lake is located between Omaha and Naples, Texas on Hwy. 67.

Established in 1921 as a private fishing, hunting, and boating club, the lake was named after J.M. Glass the original owner.  In 1932 Glass Club Lake, Inc. was officially formed by 100 founding member stockholders. Today, the corporation is registered with the Texas Secretary of State and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)7 non-profit organization.

GLASS CLUB LAKE is a private lake and by purchasing a home the homeowner becomes a stockholder in the community, has a stockholder interest in all the lands and owns an interest in the lake through the stock ownership.

The stockholders of GLASS CLUB LAKE are very conscious of preserving the lake and its pristine environment. They know they have an extremely valuable natural asset in this gem and they work diligently protect it. There are no commercial activities whatsoever at the lake.
Boating for pleasure and skiing is permitted from 12:00 noon until sunset.  No boat wake before noon and after sundown to allow fishing and slow boat cruising during the morning and evening hours.

The Glass Club Lake Community Pavilion, with its full kitchen, is available to members to rent for family reunions, holiday parties, anniversary parties, etc.  The club membership uses the Pavilion for the annual meeting in June, the Pot Luck Supper in November, and the Glass Club Lake Board meetings.
